Birthday snippets and travel adventures...

Well... I turned the big 'three oh!' back in July and what a busy time its been since then.
A family lunch, a cupcake tower, nom noms at Jamie's Italian with some fabulous friends,
pressies, cards, a one night stop in London to see what I can only describe as the 'AMAZING!'
Sweeney Todd west end show with Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton,
(if you get the chance to see this show, go! You will not be disappointed!)
a mini break to Bruges with the boy
(joint celebration of birthday and 5 year wedding anniversary)
and then straight off to New York with Paper and Cloth for the Printsource show, and the fun continued with a water taxi trip to Brooklyn, a little shopping in Catbird and a snoop around Artists and Fleas, a very warm walk along the high line and a lovely night out at Blue Note Jazz Club to see the soooooo very talented Mara Hruby!
(she's amazing, check out her you tube videos here)
Pheweeeeee!
What an amazing few weeks...

So, I thought I'd post a few little snaps I took as a round up of the busiest July for me yet...

An amazingly beautiful cupcake tower in all shades of duck egg blue, cream and soft pinks which tasted as good as they looked!
Lisa Jones 'Lovebirds' print, a present from the boy :-)
And the best present of all, (top right) the most stunning rings from the super talented jewellery designer Lilian Ginebra. You can find her etsy shop here.

A view of New York from the water taxi and a very lovely present from Catbird

(Pictures below taken from the official Sweeney Todd Musical London website here.)

This really was the most fantastic show...
Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton along with the rest of the cast, were utterly brilliant!

 Next up, the lovely Bruges...

(all above photos taken by me
bottom row: yummy scarf prints and some handmade necklaces bought from the arts and craft market in the town square)

Four days in Bruges, 'The Venice of the North', filled with walks along the cobbled streets and canals of this beautiful medieval town, sight seeing, people watching, photograph taking, boat tripping, buffet breakfasting (!), relaxing, waffle eating, beer drinking, horse carriaging, chocolate munching, shopping, beautiful food, wine and...happy days with the boy :-)
