A little update...

I thought I'd just drop in and do a little update post.
I've recently joined Flickr, and thought I'd use it as a place to document my photography ups and downs.
I'm aiming to teach myself and have a go at anything that takes my fancy really, food, styling bits and bobs, travel, the everyday, objects, etc... anything that might excite and inspire...

My flickr photo stream and sets can be found here so please pop over and say hi!
love_print_studio

I've only got a few photos on there at the moment but there will be more to come...
The first set is 'foodie pics' (food I've cooked up, baked, eaten, enjoyed and snapped) and my attempt at some simplistic shots of a Victoria Sponge I made a few weeks ago for the boys' birthday.
(If anyones interested in the recipe, it was from the Primrose Bakery book)

And this quick little post also marks the start of a new regular feature spot 'love food, love photography'.
(Theres a quick link to my regular posts at the top of the blog or you can use this little link)
I love to spend a few hours when I can having a little cook up in the kitchen so here goes, combining two big loves...yum!

Look forward to seeing you over on flickr

Ooooh crafty!

There are so many lovely craft ideas and tutorials over on Pinterest at the moment, and some of them are super nice, I've just gotta give them a try!
So right now, I'm building up a lovely collection of glass jars, tin cans, picking paint colours and sourcing out bits of wood...

All will become clear below...

So.....happy crafting!

Helloooooo October.....!

Well, October is here already! Where is this year going?
Seriously, I can't believe how it seems to have flown by, and we'll soon be into 2013, eeeeek!

Anyway, enough with showing some serious signs of getting older and moaning about how time's flying, I thought I'd do a little round up of some yummy autumnal bits and bobs I've seen and fallen for recently.
There's definitely something lovely about nights getting darker, and cozy evenings spent snuggled on the sofa with tea and chocolate, wood burner going, mmm, happy days.

So, enough ramblings from me, and onto some beautiful images for October, happy fall!

And this autumn, I will mostly be doing this...

after buying my brand new shiny digital slr camera (yay!), in my spare time, I am now found, either with it attached to my right hand or with my head well and truly in books and magazines photography related!
(For those of you who remember, back in August I did a little post on being torn between Canon and Nikon...
Well, for anyone interested, I opted for a Canon)
and watch this space for me documenting my attempts to teach myself all things photography and having a go at styling food, objects and anything else that takes my fancy, eeeeek!
Definitely a work in progress...
(all good though, fun fun fun, learning something new!) :-)

and I'll most likely be wrapped up like this...

and this

and spending many a happy evening sitting snuggled up in front of a lovely wood burner with a nice warm cuppa like this...

and I might even have a go at making walnut candles!

and baking yumminess like this apple and cinnamon yoghurt cake...

and cooking Bonfire bangers and beans, nom nom nom!

Ooh and lastly, spending time admiring the loveliness on offer over on the anthropologie website, sooooo many things I need in my life!
These pop print measuring spoons are definetley on the list

So... happy October everyone, enjoy!

Oooo lovely magazine...

The autumn issue of 91 magazine has launched, and my my it's a beauty!
Soooo many lovely things; home, style, vintage, crafts, shopping...
The content, the colours, the beautifully styled photo shoots... what more could you want in one magazine?
Here are a few yummy pages to 'ooh' and 'aah' over and you'll find much more when you have a flick through the online magazine here.
Past issues are just as lovely too so why not have a look at the archives while you're there.

There's a lovely feature on neon meets pastels styled by Charlotte Love whose work is super stunning.
(follow Charlotte on her blog here)

Another feature in this issue that caught my eye was 'Take Note'.
A gathering of stationery...whats not to like?
Styling by Sally Cullen

(I love all the different background textures in these photographs, newspaper, brown parcel paper, wood textures...)

This is a nice read too, a visit to Paris, Le Marais, and an insight into charming antiques and vintage shops, primarily one called 'Au Petit Bonheur La Chance' meaning 'haphazardly'.
(wouldn't you just love to rummage around for an afternoon in here...?)

(All images from 91 magazine)

Theres much more to find and admire so pop on over, settle down with a cuppa and have a flick through, happy days :-)

enjoy

Postcards from Puffin...

I'm a regular visitor to Homesense (aka TK Maxx home) and love to have a good rummage to find little hidden treasures for our house.
( I love some of the random things you can find)
My recent purchases have been some beautiful Lisa Stickley mugs, cups and saucers and several hundred picture frames, mmmm.

I found this lovely little number last weekend and couldn't resist it.
They're a collection of postcards from Puffin, 'One hundred puffin covers in one box' featuring different and iconic book covers from picture books , paperbacks, teen fiction and classics, covering seventy years of design and illustration in one box, and they're super lovely!

Here's a few pics...

Aaah some fond memories...

Charlottes Webb
James and the Giant Peach
Secret Garden
Fantastic Mr Fox
Alice in Wonderland
Chronicles of Narnia
and many more...

It can also be found over on amazon here

Studio Seed...

Oooh these are beautiful!
The lovely Tamsin of Studio Seed has launched a brand new range of everyday greetings cards called 'Fly Away'.
The cards have a lovely whimsical feel with a gorgeous mix of
textural floral prints and beautiful bird imagery,
and combined with her soft and sophisticated colour palette across the designs... just yum!

A few of the designs you can expect to see are wedding day, happy birthday, make a wish and feel better soon, amongst many others.

They are available to buy through not on the high street, and also in the Studio Seed etsy shop and big cartel shop so be sure to hop on over for a closer look...

Here are a few of my favourites...
