Well, Georgia has been in touch with a little update and she'll soon be graduating from the University of Bolton.
She has been busy developing her work a lot since she was featured on the blog in March last year, and has a wide range of new illustrations and prints ready to showcase at New Designers.
So, lets have a little catch up and see how Georgias been getting on in her final year...
Georgia is a Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator focusing on illustrative, modern and commercial designs for the Greetings, Giftware and Children’s print markets.
On Creative Quarters last year she talked about her design process and the development of pursing this as a career option.
Since then she has begun working on her final show for University which will exhibited at New Designers in London from June 28-July 1st.
Georgia’s final collection ‘Wilderness’ explores the great outdoors for adults and children alike, with painterly approaches to woodland fauna and characterful prints.
The designs focus on camping and rural life, imagery collected from forests, woodland creatures, camping equipment and summer camp activities such as kayaking, hiking and more.
For adults and children alike, Wilderness explores our ‘return to nature’ in the 21st Century, balancing technology with a time for escape and reflection outdoors.
The inspiration came from a broad range of visits to the Cotswold’s, Lake District, local villages and the New Forest.
Informed by a passion for children’s book illustration from the 1950’s and present day, the final range of prints reflect a love Georgia has of the countryside and a personal nostalgia of childhood.
The final showcase explores commercial collection of designs for the Interior, Giftware and Stationery markets, all of which she enjoys to design for.
Georgia is exhibiting her work at New Designers and will be available to show her portfolio.
