Creative Quarters...Hannah Jackson

The next designer to be featured in Creative Quarters is Hannah Jackson.

Hannah is a Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design student at Leeds Arts University, graduating in July.

Her personal practice comes from a love of all things colour and pattern.

Hannah has a hands-on approach to designing, using a combination of hand drawing and digital processes to create her designs, which have a stylised, graphic feel to them. All of her designs stem from a range of line drawings, textures and mark making, which are then used to create designs in Photoshop and are eventually hand screen printed.

She draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources, but her main inspiration comes from her own personal travels around the world and also from her surroundings of Leeds and her home in Leicestershire. The importance of travel and noticing the less obvious features of a place is an underpinning concept behind her designs.

She is currently working towards her end of degree show, focusing on creating a two-part collection of interior fabrics, inspired by the combination of geometric architectural details and nature.

Once graduated Hannah’s aim is to simply continue creating beautiful designs for the world to see!

Hannah is open to new collaborations and projects and her work can be seen on Instagram @hannahjacksondesign
