Love this...

What a gorgeous little collection of images, love it!

Aren't the colours amazing, love how well they work when put together.
I found this group of loveliness over on Emma Lamb's blog, through a pinterest link. (don't you just love how pinterest can lead you discover hosts of beautifulness you did't even know existed, addictive or what...?)
Anyway, hop on over to Emma's blog if you get chance, it's well worth a look.

Out and about on a Saturday...

Ooohh... it's nice to get out and about....

It's 'all engines go!' in the fabulous P&C studio at the moment, busy designing and creating for the Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collections, and I must say, it's all looking rather exciting!
So....due to much busy-ness of late, at both work and home, (new kitchen excitement!) I've not really had much chance to get out to have a nosey around the shops to see what niceness can entice me.
There are some lovely things going on with print and pattern, so I thought I'd post a few pics up on the blog.
I didn't get that much time to peruse the rails, but still came across a few nice bits.

I must say, H&M is really doing it for me at the moment, they have some stunning prints in their womenswear collections, and their ethnic look for trans is looking lovely too.

I know I should be trawling the sales for bargains now, but I'll be kinda glad when they've all finished. You can still see high summer, but there are snippets of trans peering through and as lovely as it's all looking, you can't really see the wood (gorgeous new stuff)  for the trees (boring, seen it all for months now stuff...)

Anyway, here a few bits and pieces, and if anyone gets chance to nip out for a bit of a shop this weekend...enjoy!

A few H&M prints; lots of texture, blurred techniques and soft mix and match tribal looks with a bit of delicate 'geo' paisley thrown in for good measure!
Love the sketchy botanical border print and the feather print scarf at the bottom, yum!

These next three are from M&S, top and bottom from their kidswear collections and the middle one from a ladieswear scarf, thought they were all lovely, especially like the top one!

Aswell as making a few clothing purchases, (it's my birthday soon, so I'm allowed to treat myself) I also bought these lovely notebooks, (can't resist stationery!)  designed by rosehip cards, mmmmm.... love the colours. The larger notebook at the back is by liberty.
And I couldn't resist the cute woodland notebook from accessorize! It's the bird/owl thing again...
(Think there'll be a whole separate blog post for the loveliness going on in there at the moment, some lovely scarf prints and stationery, mmm mmm mmm...)

All in all, a good day, and pleased with my purchases!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend x x x

Rachel Allen Home Cooking...

I'm loving this book at the moment.
Gradually working my way through some lovely recipes.
It's a couple of years old now but I came across it in a bookshop the other day at a ridiculously cheap price and had to buy it!
(There were too many yummy things in it it to turn down!)
Might just have to have a look at some of her other books...

I can highly recommend the 'Roast Tomato Soup' (with added roasted peppers) mmm.
And the potato cakes will be tried and tested tonight!
Some other 'soon to be given a whirl recipes' are 'Broad bean, mint and feta pasta sauce', 'Chicken casserole with cheesy herb dumplings' and 'Mushroom soup with stuffed mushrooms'.
The book is full of really good everyday, comforting and home cooked recipes that aren't too fussy and don't have endless ingredients lists, perfect for busy days!
It also helps when a cook book is beautifully designed with good layouts, and this won't disappoint with gorgeous title fonts, sweet shop striped pastel pages and lovely photography!

What more could you want...

I thought I'd do a little post on the launch of their new website 'They draw and travel'. It's ssoooooo good, it doesn't get any better does it, firstly celebrating food and design, and now travel and fabulous design... love it!
Have a looksie here.

Laura Gurton

I've recently come across the beautiful work of Laura Gurton, and I'm sure you'll agree, they're stunning. I'm really drawn to these images...whether it's the colour, the composition, the 'floating' intricate blurred patterns or the look of unpredictability they evoke, I've no idea, but I know I love them!
You can see more of Laura's work here x

Collier Campbell

A little bit of loveliness caught my eye in this months Elle Decoration....

Collier Campbell

Their iconic prints will be shown in an exhibition at the National Theatre in London and is on till Sunday 3rd July.

Time Out London says 'A retrospective of sibling textile designers Susan Collier and Sarah Campbell, who have collaborated with design houses such as Yves St Laurent, Cacherel and Liberty. The exhibition marks the fiftieth anniversary of Collier Campbell and the relaunch of the company's fashion and home products.'

Their designs continue to be featured with many high street retailers, such as M&S...

Above images taken from the Marks and Spencer Collier Campbell collection.

Love these vintage florals and pretty prints in their collection at House of Fraser...

And these below images are taken from their website;

I've got to say, my favourite has definitely got to be the leaves and birds print at the top, gorgeous!
With all of the woodland and forest imagery around for AW12/13, it's a really nice take on this trend.
Amazing after 50 years, their prints can still look so current and exciting.
