Studio pics...

As part of the November photo challenge I'm trying to do, two of the themes this week have meant I've taken some pics of my ickle studio (well, one side of it anyway), so I thought I'd share them with you on the blog too, why not...

The top two pics are of my inspiration shelf which constantly changes, and a huge source of eye candy on a daily basis.
Current loves on there are rosehip notebooks (oh my...gorgeous colours and prints), Paperchase notebooks and stickers, Lisa Jones cards, soft toys, Jane Ormes goodies, Ben Javens for 1973, Junzo Teradas' 'Happy Animal Time' postcard pack, french children's books, Jurianne Matters 'Blom' paper flowers sitting nicely in a folky inspired pot, my big fat owl cushion in the corner keeping everyone in line on the shelf (!) and of course my little felt garland that hangs there all nicely.

The owls at the bottom are a recent little gift from a works trip and I loooooove them, arent they cute!? (fuelling my obsession with anything owl/ bird related)

Hope you've enjoyed sharing a little piece of my world...

Colour crush...

It's been a while since I did a colour crush post, so I thought it best to just bloomin' well do one, so here goes with the latest...
I know it looks a bit springy with the lilacs and mint (theres a little nod towards a winter warmer bottom left with those cozy knitted mug covers) but I thought the combo was super yum, mmm
enjoy...

November photography challenge...

Happy November!
Well...as its the start of a new month, I decided to try one of those photography challengey thingys where you take a photo every day based on a specific thing; colour, item, letter, etc...
As I'm new to my ickle slr I thought it would be a good way to learn a bit more about it alongside reading manuals/ photography books/ blogs/ watching you tube videos...
I'm documenting my attempts over on my flickr page if you wanted to take a look.

One of the challenges was 'breakfast' and after doing some baking at the weekend, this was my breakfast on Sunday morning, mmmm... (decadent I know, to have nutella muffins sprinkled with cocoa powder for breakfast but they did have rolled oats in them (!)...what the heck, they were yummy!
They went down very well with the boy too, happy hubby :-)

Please pop over to Rebecca's little tree designs blog for the recipe; 'Nutella filled oatmeal muffins'
I couldn't resist giving them a go when I saw her post.

(photo taken by me -
definitely a work in progress as I learn the tricks eh, ha!...)

The Awesome Project...

I stumbled across an image on pinterest recently and just had to see more of the same, so I clicked the link, (as you do) and oh my....just beautiful...
See for yourself...
I couldn't help but do a little post on it here.

'The Awesome Project' is an experimental journey through the world of porcelain, by a multi-disciplinary duo Madalina Andronic and Claudiu Stefan.
Using romanian folklore as their influence, they create beautifully adorned, decorative objects using porcelain, underglaze colours and stoneware glazes.

Heres a few to wet the appetite...mmm

Please go and check out their tumblr page here.

Colour crush (fifty shades of green)...

I'm absolutely loving green at the moment.
Every time I go shopping I seem to come back with something green related, most recently a pair of skinny jeans and a beautiful sleeveless blouse
(clearly they wont be worn together, I don't  like green green quite that much!)
Anyway, in honour of my recent obsession, heres a little colour crush post, 'Fifty shades of green'...

Stratford Food Festival...

The boy and I had a couple of weeks off recently and one of our little outings was a visit to the Stratford-Upon-Avon Food Festival.
Stall after stall of gorgeous food displays and lots of nibbles on offer.
It was a beautiful afternoon thanks to some unusually nice weather considering we were coming to the end of September, and we spent it strolling around the shops with the fluffy one, eating, and sitting by the river drinking a cheeky cider and munching on chocolate brownies from the artisan sweet bakery 'love patisserie'.
Happy days!

Here are a few photos I took...
(there are more of my photos over on my flickr page if anyones interested, otherwise, here are just a select few)

A little update...

I thought I'd just drop in and do a little update post.
I've recently joined Flickr, and thought I'd use it as a place to document my photography ups and downs.
I'm aiming to teach myself and have a go at anything that takes my fancy really, food, styling bits and bobs, travel, the everyday, objects, etc... anything that might excite and inspire...

My flickr photo stream and sets can be found here so please pop over and say hi!
love_print_studio

I've only got a few photos on there at the moment but there will be more to come...
The first set is 'foodie pics' (food I've cooked up, baked, eaten, enjoyed and snapped) and my attempt at some simplistic shots of a Victoria Sponge I made a few weeks ago for the boys' birthday.
(If anyones interested in the recipe, it was from the Primrose Bakery book)

And this quick little post also marks the start of a new regular feature spot 'love food, love photography'.
(Theres a quick link to my regular posts at the top of the blog or you can use this little link)
I love to spend a few hours when I can having a little cook up in the kitchen so here goes, combining two big loves...yum!

Look forward to seeing you over on flickr

Ooooh crafty!

There are so many lovely craft ideas and tutorials over on Pinterest at the moment, and some of them are super nice, I've just gotta give them a try!
So right now, I'm building up a lovely collection of glass jars, tin cans, picking paint colours and sourcing out bits of wood...

All will become clear below...

So.....happy crafting!

Helloooooo October.....!

Well, October is here already! Where is this year going?
Seriously, I can't believe how it seems to have flown by, and we'll soon be into 2013, eeeeek!

Anyway, enough with showing some serious signs of getting older and moaning about how time's flying, I thought I'd do a little round up of some yummy autumnal bits and bobs I've seen and fallen for recently.
There's definitely something lovely about nights getting darker, and cozy evenings spent snuggled on the sofa with tea and chocolate, wood burner going, mmm, happy days.

So, enough ramblings from me, and onto some beautiful images for October, happy fall!

And this autumn, I will mostly be doing this...

after buying my brand new shiny digital slr camera (yay!), in my spare time, I am now found, either with it attached to my right hand or with my head well and truly in books and magazines photography related!
(For those of you who remember, back in August I did a little post on being torn between Canon and Nikon...
Well, for anyone interested, I opted for a Canon)
and watch this space for me documenting my attempts to teach myself all things photography and having a go at styling food, objects and anything else that takes my fancy, eeeeek!
Definitely a work in progress...
(all good though, fun fun fun, learning something new!) :-)

and I'll most likely be wrapped up like this...

and this

and spending many a happy evening sitting snuggled up in front of a lovely wood burner with a nice warm cuppa like this...

and I might even have a go at making walnut candles!

and baking yumminess like this apple and cinnamon yoghurt cake...

and cooking Bonfire bangers and beans, nom nom nom!

Ooh and lastly, spending time admiring the loveliness on offer over on the anthropologie website, sooooo many things I need in my life!
These pop print measuring spoons are definetley on the list

So... happy October everyone, enjoy!
